By car
Fiesole is easy to reach from Florence. If you are on the Autostrada del Sole (A1) we suggest the Firenze Sud exit: Fiesole is marked with blue road signs, but as further information, follow directions to the Stadio. From he other exits, Firenze Nord, Firenze Certosa and Firenze Signa, or from the toll-free superstrade Firenze-Siena and Firenze-Pisa-Livorno follow directions for Viali Circonvallazione/Centro/Stadio, then for Fiesole, which is about 5 km from Florence. In Fiesole’s main square drive on along the pharmacy, it’s an uphill road, towards Olmo- Torre di Buiano-Borgo San Lorenzo. You will be driving across the whole town and exit it; now the name of the road is SP. 54 also named “dei Bosconi”. The road goes along the side of the hill, offering a scenic overview of the Mugnone valley. When you reach the kilometer 6.7 a brown road sign marks Torre di Buiano. After a few meter, opposite a small stone church, you will find the small entrance on via Torre di Buiano. After about 100 meters downhill, follow the sign to the Parking of Poggio al Sole. In case of traffic jam for those coming from the North ( A1 Bologna – Firenze) you may exit at Barberino di Mugello and follow directions to Borgo S. Lorenzo – Firenze via Faentina (SS 302). When you reach the four –way crossroads Vetta Le Croci – Fiesole take the left towards Fiesole, after 2 km, on your left, you will find the restaurant La Casa del Prosciutto and after 50 meters, on your right, the small entrance to Torre di Buiano, and after 100 meters the parking of the farmhouse.
By train
From square San Marco the terminus of bus No. 7, which takes you to Fiesole in about half an hour, you will get off in Piazza Mino. Please buy your bus ticket before boarding the bus (at a bar, tobacconist, newspaper stand), or from the bus driver at 2 euro instead of 1.20 euro. You will have to catch another local bus in Fiesole, No. 45, that will take you to the fork to Torre di Buiano in about 15 minutes, but does not run very often. By plane
